If You Could Find A Way

Texas Hold-Em Poker & the Law of Attraction

Two areas of interests I’ve seen explode in recent years is the sport of Texas hold-em poker and the law of attraction. Poker commentators have a saying about the game. It takes a minute to learn and a lifetime to master. I think that saying can just as aptly be used for us humans with regards to learning about the so called law of attraction.

Joe Vitale talks us through the application steps in the movie “The Secret”. It is not hard to learn about. But mastering the application of using the so called law of attraction for what we really want is another level of playing the game in each of our own lives.

Some online marketers like to call Dov Baron the “John Wayne of Manifesting” because he tells people how it is. So early in Dov Barons’ ebook he gets straight to the science of this so called law of attraction and explains there is a quantum Law of Resonance which is the deeper science beyond the superficial like attracts like explanation associated with law of attraction hype.

Dov also pulls no punches that telling us we have to get our butt into gear to live the life of our dreams. As he says “Manifestation is NOT a magical process” It is an active process which we have to be fully involved in at every turn mentally, emotionally and physically.

Dov’s first part of book is really addressing some of the myths about manifesting and positive thinking.

That effort alone is not going to get us what we want in life and neither will visualizing what we want without the effort of physical action. He addresses what he likes to call half-truths and suggests if we are operating from a place of half-truths in any area of life we will encounter major obstacles in those areas.

In the next posting I will cover his section he describes the science of the quantum Law of Resonance

To know, but not to do, is not to know. We may know it on an intellectual level, but until we live it, be it, nothing really changes. All of us can probably write down one or two things which we know if we did right now could dramatically improve certain areas of our lives. They may not even be difficult to do, yet we don’t do them. Why? Because it requires discipline, focus, action to replace old habitual ways of thinking and behaving. Yet mastery of self, is the best investment each of us can make.

In order to make even those small changes we actually want to make takes all of the ingredients Peter so eloquently shared with us. Discipline, Focus and Inspired Action… I would add Love and Forgiveness (of yourself and of others) to that list. If you feel that nothing is changing, check to ensure you are clear on your intention, that you are following your plans and forgive yourself if you have slipped and love yourself enough to get back on track.

Yes, Investing in ourself is the best investment we can make. Brilliantly summed up Peter. I know you are a life long student aswell. ( btw Peter also has his own excellent book called “Lighten Your Load” which I have my own signed copy :-) and
is well worth investing in at http://lightenyourloadonline.com)

I know you already started reading this e-book yourself. Let me know when you get to dig into the videos and audios aswell.

Cate, yes, love is a big emotional ingredient to manifesting what we truly desire from our deepest core. It would be like a rocket set up to goto the moon having no fuel to move from the launch pad.

The interesting element to Dov’s material I am finding , is he adds the pyschology aspect into us creating the life of our dreams which is all about the personal emotional stuff we all go through from time to time that can stop us in our tracks.

Our own inertia can be tough to move through. I guess that is why he coined the phrase for himself as a Quantum-Meta-Pyschologist rather than just a generic description of a life coach or manifesting mentor.
Personally, I love the mix for my own learning. It really resonates with me and resonance is what is covered next!

In my coming blog entry I will add my thoughts on the quantum physics understanding he goes through in next section of his book.
